Geraldine B Becker fell asleep in Jesus on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the age of 93.
“Gerry” was born on June 12, 1931, to Rev Anton and Esther (Mueller) Senne in Coffeyville, KS. She was baptized and confirmed into the church by her father. She graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville, and from St. John’s College in Winfield, KS. After working a short time in the Kansas City, area, Gerry moved to St. Louis for work. Eventually, she worked as the assistant to the president at Concordia Publishing House.
In December of 1961, she married Erwin W Lutz, Principal of Messiah Lutheran School at the time, and they were blessed with two children, Karla (Paul) Gray of St. Louis and Brian (Clarice) Lutz of Leimen, Germany. Gerry was preceded in death by Erwin in 1972. She worked at Lutheran Laymen’s League until marrying Norbert V Becker, June of 1975, and relocating to East Wenatchee, WA. She became stepmother to Paul (Kathy) of San Carlos, CA, Mark (Suzan) of Charlotte, NC, Lois (Bret Budd) of Omaha, NE, Tim (Michelle) of Portland, OR, and Steve of St. Louis. After living in Jefferson City, MO for four years, they moved back to St. Louis.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and her sister, Eleanor. She is survived by two siblings, Edgar Senne of Valparaiso, IN and Elaine (Bill) Jeude of Pevely, MO, seven children, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gerry was a hard worker, devoted to her family and church. She loved music. Singing in choir, playing piano and organ and listening to good music was a joy to her. She spent many hours cooking, canning, knitting, and more for those she loved. She had a good sense of humor and will be dearly missed.
