Born on August 7, 1927 to Orval and Lois Waller, George Waller was six years old at the height of the Great Depression. As his father before him, George enlisted in the Marines to protect our country. Deployed just as World War II was coming to a close, his unit was charged with keeping the peace in China. After he was honorably discharged, George declined an invitation to join the family painting business and instead used the GI BIll to earn his bachelor’s degrees from Wichita State University. George would go on to earn his Master’s in social work from Washington University and spend 35 years at St. Louis University Hospital in the department of Psychiatry. George married twice, first to Ruby Wetona and then to Elizabeth Waller (both deceased).
George passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday October 25, 2023 at the age of 96. He is survived by four of his children, Dana (John) Enyart, Michael Waller, David (Michelle) Waller, and Daniel (Barbie) Waller. George's oldest, Steven Waller, passed in 2019. George leaves seven grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Jennifer, Jason, Ben, Sam and Kenzie, and two great-grandchildren, Skyy Cordova and Forrest Enyart.
