Gary J. Kauffmann, born on March 18, 1946, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on December 7, 2024. A dedicated letter carrier with the Postal Service for over 50 years, Gary was known for his unwavering commitment to his work and his deep connections within the community.
Gary's life was enriched by many interests and passions. He found joy in golfing, fishing, and playing cards with his friends, and he especially treasured the time spent with his family. His love for family was evident, particularly in the close bond he shared with his beloved daughters Michelle Patterson and Christine Kauffmann. As a cherished grandfather, he made lasting memories with his grandchildren: Alec, Farrah, Taylor, Nicholas (Rachel), Ted, Cole and Vivianna.
Gary was also fortunate to have a loving partner by his side; he shared a remarkable 45 years with his girlfriend, Mary Brumfield. His siblings, Joe Kauffmann and Diane Ford, were an important part of his life, providing support and companionship throughout the years. He was accompanied in spirit by his loyal dogs, Lassie and Heidi, who brought him comfort and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer H. and Antonina "Lee" Kauffmann, and his brother, Elmer L. Kauffmann. The legacy he leaves behind is one of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Visitation will be held on December 18, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. A Mass in his memory will take place on December 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4556 Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129, followed by Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, 6901 MacKenzie Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123 at 11:30 AM.
Gary J. Kauffmann will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
