Steffen, Jr., Frederick F. Age 88, passed peacefully on June 11. Born on January 26, 1936, to Fred and Laura Steffen. Beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and a fun and trusted friend to many.
Fred has resided in the City of St. Louis his entire life, serving the City first as a St. Louis Firefighter from 1962 to 1977 and later serving as the Clerk of the St. Louis Board of Alderman for more than 15 years until retirement in 2001.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to The Backstoppers.
Visitation on Tuesday June 18 at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held the following morning, June 19, 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery following Mass.
