Even amidst the serious health challenges which came following carcinoma diagnosis in the fall of 2018, and his loss of significant body mass thereafter, he remained undaunted in his effort to maintain rigorous activity both at home and at church.
Fred was a longtime active member of Peace Lutheran Church where he served as Head Usher, part of the security team, President of the Men's Club, Couples Club, Pinochle Club, Worship Greeter and Property Management Team. With the launch of Peace's Boar's Head Christmas Festival in 1995, Fred served as a Beefeater and he diligently assisted with other efforts in the support of that endeavor over the years since that time. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, grilling, gardening and volleyball.
After a life of remarkable service to family, church, and community, and a time undergoing various health challenges, Fred quietly departed this life on Monday, December 2, 2019, 1:09 pm at Barnes Jewish Hospital. He attained the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 16 days.
