Florence Nieder

Nieder, Florence (nee Scheadler) Passed peacefully on July 12, 2024. Loving wife of the late Maurice “Tom” Nieder; dear mother of Rick (Nancy) Nieder, Dan Nieder, and Tom Nieder; grandmother of Christy (the late Jeff) Patton, Brian (Megan) Nieder, David (Courtney) Nieder, Jessica (Kenny) Leesmann, Ashley Nieder, Sam Nieder, Max Nieder, and Thomas Nieder; great-grandmother of Keira, Mary Rose, Jeffrey, Rory, and Keegan; preceded in death by her sisters Joyce (the late Richard) Laverty and Janet (the late Gary) Duncan; survived by her sisters Virginia (the late Jerry) Kurt, Carol (the late Tom) Intagliata, Shirley (Jim) Stevens, and Linda (Jim) Quellmalz; dear sister-in-law to the late Jerry (Mary) Nieder, the late Lloyd (Jane) Nieder, the late Eunice (Ray) Hall, and surviving Jim (Darla) Nieder; our dear aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many. 

Florence worked for many years at St. Louis University Hospital as an operating room nurse and director, helping to save many lives and happy to share her knowledge with others. In her time away from the hospital, Florence enjoyed playing golf and made many friends while on the green. Her family will cherish many memories of Florence and her magnificent cooking skills, which she loved to share with them, from holidays to a weekend brunch. Florence will be missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Assumption-Mattese Catholic Church.

Florence’s visitation will be held on Friday July 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. before procession to Assumption-Mattese Catholic Church for 11:00 a.m. Mass. Inurnment in Resurrection Cemetery following services.
