Eugene “Gene” E. Roth, 84, passed away on the 13th day of April 2023. Son the of the late Theophil and the late Esther, nee Bodenschatz, Roth, beloved husband of Pauline Roth, nee Kaufmann, devoted father of the late Kathy and the late Timothy who both died in infancy, and Constance (James) Kuchar, brother of the late Nelson Roth, and beloved uncle and great uncle, and friend to many.

Eugene was a graduate of Concordia Teacher’s College in River Forest, Illinois. Later he retired from, the Missouri Division of Youth Services. Gene was an avid softball player and bowler and was inducted to the St. Louis Slow-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as being a pet lover. He and his wife attended South County Bible Church for many years where he enjoyed, as a music lover, being a member of the choir.

Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to South County Bible Church Mission Fund or Gateway Pet Guardians.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Home, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at South County Bible Church, 4111 Von Talge Rd., St louis, MO 63128, with visitation starting at 10am. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirkwood, MO. www.ziegenheinfuneralhome.com
