Emmett L.Frisbee was born on March 31, 1921 and passed away on July 30, 2012 at 91 years of age. Born to Tobe and Nancy Belle Frisbee on March 31, 1921 - the youngest of seven children, Clyde, Ollie, Bob, Bill, Glenn and Clay. Married the love of his life, Agnes Marie Rippert in 1943, a few months before he shipped out to England where he became part of the World War II D-Day invasion and the first wave at Omaha Beach. He earned a bronze star for his actions there, and also battle stars for his continuing efforts at the Battle of the Bulge. Emmett became one of the first employees of the St. Louis County Park Department in 1949. He and Agnes raised their family in Jefferson Barracks Park from 1951 to 1972, when they moved to Suson Park. He retired as Regional Supervisor after 30 years of managing development of St. Louis Co. Parks. Emmett and Agnes moved to Lecoma, Mo. and later to St. James, Mo. Agnes lost her battle with MS in 2000, and Emmett moved back to Jefferson Barracks in 2005. Emmett was honored by St. Louis County Parks with a recreation/picnic shelter, which today stands at Bee Tree Park in South St. Louis County. Emmett was recognized by the Missouri State House of Representatives in April, 2002 as an Outstanding Missourian. Loving father of Jerry and Earline , Richard and Diane Frisbee, Nancy and Bill Thomas, Dan and Jackie, Stan and Patty, Tim and Joan Frisbee, and the late 1st Lieutenant Thomas G. Frisbee, who died in 1972 while serving in the United States Air Force. Loving grandfather of Karen, Eric, Dirk, Paul, Erin, Jim, John, Jenny, Steven, Tobias, Katie and Jessica, and great-grandfather to 14. Survived by his brother, Clay Frisbee and sister-in-law, Mary Talkington. He will be missed more than we can say. Our thanks to Sunrise of DesPeres and Seasons Hospice for their care and caring.
