Scherer, Elmer, age 99 passed away peacefully Saturday March 20, 2016. Husband of the late Nellie Scherer (nee Clark). Father of Gerald (Adanesh) & Richard Scherer. Grandfather of Jeanette, Paula & Anthony and great-grandfather of Laila Marie & Aaron. Brother of Ruth Farebell and the late Walter Scherer. He was a World War II veteran, a devoted husband, carpenter and fisherman. He served the American Legion as an adjutant in Mehlville and also worked with the Boy Scouts. SERVICE: Funeral Friday 10:00am at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS South County (4830 Lemay Ferry Road) Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. VISITATION THURSDAY 4 to 8PM. March 24, 2016
