Elaine Woelfert

Woelfert, Elaine (nee Ruder) ; On Thursday January 3, 2019, age 82. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Woelfert; dear mother of Karen ( Buddy) Carson, loving Fiance of Donald Harr; Our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many. Elaine was born in St. Louis, MO on July 25th, 1936. She graduated from Affton High School in 1954 and worked as a bank teller at the Gravois/Mercantile Bank until her retirement. Elaine married Eugene Woelfert on August 11, 1956 and they were married for over 37 years until his death on February 12, 1994. Later, she met Donald "Don" Harr and they were engaged since September of 1997. Elaine enjoyed the times with her large family; she enjoyed camping and travel and going on bus trips and theatre shows; enjoyed her Mother-Daughter days going to the movies and shopping--especially Kimmswick. She has always had a love of Beagle dogs and she collected them. Cricket will be buried with Elaine and Lexie will stay with Don. Karen said, "I had wonderful parents. I was raised right, had a happy childhood filled with fun and memories. Mom and Dad, and then Mom and Don lived next door to me and we visited often. We enjoyed my friends and hanging out in my back yard." Elaine really loved her son-in-law, Buddy. She was the only Mom he ever knew. She loved hearing about his adventures as an OTR truck driver and was always waiting to welcome him home, with hugs and kisses and even tears of joy that he made it home safely. She was a Mom for one and a Mom for everyone. Services: Visitation Sunday, January 6, 4-8 pm at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOME (South County), 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. (63129). Visitation and funeral Monday January 7, 2019 10 am until service time 12 noon at St. Lucas UCC Church, 11735 Denny Rd. (63126). Interment St. Lucas UCC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to ASPCA, Hanley Rd. are appreciated. January 06, 2019 Sunday
