MATHAE, EDWIN GEORGE, age 95, asleep in Jesus Wednesday May 21, 2014. Beloved husband of 62 years of Mary Mathae (nee McClure). Loving father of Jane Ellen (Frank Allen, Jr.) Melville. Dearest grandfather of Douglas Kyle Melville. Son of the late Dr. George H. & Alice Holdoway Mathae. Brother of the late Jeannette (Oliver) Keller, Rev. William (Betty) Mathae, and Ruth (Raymond) Johnson. Uncle of John (Kathy) Keller of Springfield, MO, Margaret (Scott) Mekler of St. Louis, Mark Mathae of Arlington, VA, Rev. Dr. William (Ann) Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN, and Thomas (Sharon) Johnson of Kankakee, IL., and friend to many. He attended Westminster College in Fulton and was present during Churchill's famous "Iron Curtain" speech. He graduated from Washington University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Mathae was founder and President of Safety Dynamics. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II.
