Edward Thuerwaechter

July 5, 1924 — September 24, 2011

On Sept. 24, 2011, Edward John Thuerwaechter went to his heavenly reward after a fearless 14 year battle with Leukemia, He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of over 62 years, Evelyn, his adoring daughters Brenda Emmenegger and Cindy Holster (John), four grandchildren, Kelly Loomis (Brad), Justin, Jared and Jenna Holster (Todd Centofanti-fiance) who not only admired but adored their special Grandpa, Fred Emmenegger, sister in-law Loretta Ploesser and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Mary Thuerwaechter, his brother and sister in-law Arthur and Marian Thuerwaechter and his brother in-law, Herman Ploesser. Ed was a WWII naval veteran who fought in battles in the Pacific. A special thanks to all of his doctors, and especially his oncologist at the V.A., Dr. "Va" who added many great years for Ed through his care and devotion. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Paul UCC, 5508 Telegraph Rd. (63129) or the Leukemia Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation: Tuesday, 4-8 PM at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS, (South County), 4830 Lemay Ferry Road and Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 5508 Telegraph Rd, 9AM until time of service at 10:00 AM. Interment with full military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. September 27, 2011
