It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward “Eddie” Gregg Parker Jr., of Saint Louis, on Tuesday, November 6, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital after he bravely fought for four years with melanoma.
Eddie was born on September 6,1983 to parents Sandra (nee Leiendecker) and Edward Gregg Parker Sr. He was a loving husband to Brittany Graue and a devoted father to their four children: Colton (8), Brooklyn (6), Anderson (3), and Haven (1). He was the cherished brother to Ryan (Cori) Parker and Travis (Sammy) Parker. He was also a beloved son-in-law to Jeff and Shirley Graue and a brother-in-law to Aaron Graue. Eddie’s nieces and nephews Marek, Lakin, Titus, and Queenie, adored him, and he was also a dear nephew, cousin, and friend to so many.
Eddie grew up in a close-knit community, attending Green Park Lutheran School before graduating from Lutheran High School South in 2002. Eddie played many sports throughout his early life including baseball, basketball and soccer. With his love for soccer and his talent on the field, he went on to play at Saint Louis University (SLU), where he earned his BS in Business Administration ’cum laude’ with emphasis in Management Information Systems.
His love for soccer, which actually introduced him to Brittany, was just one of many passions he carried through his life. Eddie loved sharing his enthusiasm for sports as he began to coach his kids and their teams. He found peace through his children, always wanting to be there for them. And he also found joy in spending time with his extended family at the lake house. He could hold the title for party entertainer with his rendition of “Baby Got Back”.
Eddie built a successful career as a Director of Software Engineering with Omnicom Group, where he was respected for his professionalism, dedication, and integrity. He built many relationships with co-workers throughout his career. Eddie’s warmth, kindness, and strength will be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure and blessing of knowing him. He was a devoted family man who touched countless lives, both on and off the sports field. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
He will be deeply missed.
