Dorothy "Dot" Lee Lesher, nee Daniel, at home and supported by family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the age of 97.
Beloved wife of 73 years before his passing to the late James Lesher; admired Mother to Mark (Susan) Lesher, the late Jeffery Lesher, and Christine (Floyd) Reed; respected Grandmother and Great-Grandmother; dear sister of the late Clyde Daniel; friend to all.
Dorothy was born November 11, 1926, in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Jamie and the late Etta, nee Wilborn, Daniel. She remained a fan of the University of Alabama football team. “Roll Tide!” Dorothy worked in the flower industry her entire life and met the love of her life, James, while working at Netties Flower Garden in St. Louis. They married in 1948 and eventually opened their own floral business, Lesher’s Flowers Inc., in 1973. Lesher’s Flowers is a thriving third generation owned and operated business in St. Louis city. The success of Lesher’s Flowers was a source of great pride for Dorothy.
Dorothy was a devoted member of Tower Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowship and serving as a member of WMU . Dorothy was an extraordinary woman of faith and family. She was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her and will be greatly missed.

Dorothy’s visitation will be held on Saturday August 31, 2024, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home South City Chapel 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Following services at the funeral home, meeting at O'Fallon City Cemetery for 1:30 p.m. interment in O'Fallon, IL.
