Schoenbeck, Doris Ethel (nee Hale) formerly Deffaa, of Webster Groves, Missouri, was born to Herbert and Emma (nee Planitzer) Hale and was Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Thursday, February 10, 2022, in her hometown at the age of 100 years and 4 months.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husbands, Edward L. Deffaa and Russell F. Schoenbeck.
She is survived by, her devoted son, Clyde (Susan) Deffaa, three (3) beloved grandchildren, Brian H. (Jennifer) Deffaa, Kristen D. (Scott) Rhodes and Haley D. (Logan) Fuller, eleven (11) cherished great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Doris was the sweetest person with a happy disposition that never complained. She cared for everyone. She was loved and admired by many, but no one treasured her more than her family.
She was a graduate of Belleville High School and worked as a St. Louis Public School Secretary for her whole career. She was an avid world traveler. In her day Doris loved to play tennis and other sports. In her later years she enjoyed watching them live or on tv. She was the St. Louis Cardinals No. 1 fan and received a birthday card from the Cardinals when she turned 100. Doris loved and cared for animal throughout life. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
