Doris Helen Hartmann, 92 fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Daughter of the late Orville Peter and the late Erna Peter nee Fellhauer; beloved wife of the late Paul William Hartmann; devoted mother of Paula Shimel, Andy (Mary Jo) Hartmann, Doreen (Curt) Miller and Dean (Tracey) Hartmann; cherished grandmother of Melissa (Joel) Craig, Rick Boyle, Brett (Stefanie) Shimel, Kevin (Kristen) Hartmann, Kayla (Jamey) Murphy, Vicki (Mike) McGuire, the late Doug Miller, Claire Hartmann and Peter Hartmann; loving great grandmother of 17; dear friend of Joan Serati; sister in law, cousin, aunt, great aunt, relative and friend to many.
Doris was a woman of many passions, known for her love of games like poker and pinochle, and her enjoyment of word puzzles and game shows.
Above all, Doris cherished her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often baking cookies and going on yearly family outings to Grant’s Farm. These moments created lasting memories that her family will treasure forever.
Doris shared a beautiful marriage with her devoted husband, Paul. Their love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Doris’s warmth, love, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In Doris’s honor a visitation will be held at 8:30 am on Friday, September 13 at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel. Catholic mass will be at Assumption Catholic Church beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at 11:30am.
