Doris Anderson

Anderson. Doris Mae (nee Martin), 90, of St Louis, Missouri, died peacefully on January 9, 2015. Doris was born the middle of three children on February 7th, 1924 in St Louis, Missouri to Lyle R. and Maude (Stevens) Martin. Doris was a graduate of Cleveland High School and was involved with the USO supporting our troops during World War II. She married her husband John "Jack" Anderson on March 2nd, 1943. Doris worked for Westinghouse and GE for a number of years before she became a board member of the DorAn Company with her husband Jack. Doris was involved with a great many charities offering her time and assistance to these organizations. She spent some of her leisure time sewing and working on other craft projects and put her talents to use supporting craft projects through her church Prince of Peace UCC in St. Louis. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Jack, sister Esther Kretschman, and brother Lyle Martin. Tales of Doris' spirit, tenacity, and spunk will long be cherished and remembered with laughter by those who survive her: brother-in-law Charles Kretschman, sister-in-law Loy Martin, nephews Steve Martin, Chris (April) Martin, Craig (Connie) Martin, great-nieces Kathy and Cindy Martin and Rachael Larson and great-nephews Tom and Michael Martin. Services: Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS South County, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. A short service will follow immediately with interment at Lakewood Park Cemetery. January 17, 2015
