Don Hill

Don R. Hill, 71, of St. Louis, passed away on Friday, April 5th, 2024. Born on December 3, 1952 to Harold and Dorothy Hill. He now leaves behind a legacy of lending a hand that impacted the lives of many.
   
  Don had an amazing work ethic – “never missing a day”. He got his first job as a paperboy in the Shaw neighborhood. He attended Roosevelt High School and O'Fallon Tech before joining the Air Force. After completing his military service, he worked for 36 years at UPS. Don loved camping. In his youth, he worked at Camp EDI and then in 2008 he was known as “The Beast” while working at Camp Lakewood. During retirement, Don “couldn’t be lucky enough” when it came to helping others with their projects. He was recently building sensory rooms for autistic kids through The Synapsory.

In his free time, Don could be found on the golf course or racquetball court, helping family and friends with their projects, collecting treasures, planning game nights, feeding his fish and birds, or his favorite activity – adventuring with his grandchildren. 

Don is now reunited in peace with his parents and brother Mark Hill.
   He will be deeply missed but forever cherished by his surviving family. His brothers Jack (Donna), Ed (Rita), Ken (Jane), and sister Carol (Jeff) Campey, children David (Tara) and Laura (Jay Jacaty), grandchildren Allison, Nathan, Joanna, and Lucas, nieces, nephews, many friends, and extended family. His beloved granddogs Willa & Rylee are missing their favorite person and the many treats he would spoil them with.
 
   Don Hill may have left this world, but his memory will be everlasting in the ways he helped others, talked your ear off, or that random item he found “just out and about” that you wanted or needed.

   Visitation: Friday, April 12th, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Homes, South County Chapel at 4830 Lemay Ferry Road St. Louis, MO 63129.   Memorial Service: Saturday April 13th, 2024, 3:00 – 4:00 PM again at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Homes, South County Chapel. (Family at 2:00 PM, Service at 3:00 PM).
