David Sennewald Costello

February 22, 1984 — February 9, 2025

David Sennewald Costello left this world much too soon on February 9, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on February 22, 1984, in St. Louis, Missouri, David’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering passion for aviation and a deep-rooted kindness that touched everyone he encountered.

Dave graduated from Crossroads College Preparatory School and went on to obtain both a bachelor's degree in airport facility management and a master's degree in aviation safety from the University of Central Missouri. His love for planes and flying was evident in every aspect of his career as a pilot, where he expertly maneuvered the skies and as a mechanic where his analytic skills and attention to detail were appreciated by all who used the planes he worked on. He found his professional home at ATD Flight Systems where he was able to grow, expanding his knowledge and expertise on both the mechanical and piloting sides of aviation.

Beyond his professional life, David was a gentle soul known for his intelligence and contemplative nature. He embraced a variety of interests, music being one of them. As a proud founding member of the Irish rock band "Chance the Arm," Dave found joy in both performing and sharing his love for music with others. His musical talents were complemented by a self-driven determination, as he taught himself to play the guitar after learning to play the piano. This dedication was a reflection of the observant, dedicated, and intense spirit that drove him. The Chance the Arm family was one of the most supportive and pleasurable experiences of his life as he was able to develop deep relationships with his bandmates, the Chance the Army fans, and enjoy some wonderful Irish festivals throughout the Midwest.

Dave's adventurous spirit led him to explore the world, often thinking outside the box to impress his beloved wife of 14 years, Kyndal, on their adventure dates. One of her favorite memories of these was the camping trip they took to Arkansas where he flew her to the top of the mountain, and they enjoyed intensely beautiful, rustic camping only accessible by plane. These moments were filled with laughter and love, creating cherished memories. He found immense joy in celebrating Christmas. As a child he eagerly anticipating the annual viewing of "A Christmas Carol," a tradition that brought warmth and happiness into his life and those around him. As an adult, he shifted to excitement for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra shows and drives through the festival of lights in O'Fallon where he proposed in a horse drawn carriage in 2009. Dave also relished the simpler pleasures, such as playing baseball in his younger years and playing video games with his kids more recently.

David is survived by his wife, Kyndal; children, Lincoln David Costello, Selah Brianne Costello and Kyla Anna-Leigh McMillian; brother, Ryan Costello; father, Darius “Chip” Costello and mother, Mary Lois Sennewald along with an extensive extended family.
