Colleen Carol Thayer passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2024, at the age of 74. Beloved wife of Thomas Hillen; loving mother of Kelly Pepple; blessed grandmother, or "Coco" to Keegan Pepple; cherished daughter of the late Louis and the late Peggy, nee Cassidy, Androff; dear sister of the late Terry Thayer, Scott (Susan) Androff, and Chris (Harris) Van Hillo. Colleen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Colleen will be remembered for her creativity and her sense of humor. She was very funny and quick-witted with a sharp mind and attitude. She loved art and the arts so much so that after retiring from her work as a travel agent, Colleen was able to throw herself into her art and became the creator of Cocodoodle Designs. She also had a love and appreciation for music and the theatre, especially when her grandson, Keegan, was performing. Colleen loved to watch him on stage and was a very proud Coco. Colleen's artistic and funny personality even extended to her convertible Volkswagen that she would decorate with magnets that she would change with the season and occasion. But what Colleen will be remembered for most of all is her kindness, which everyone who had the blessing of meeting her would notice. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to American Cancer Society.
Colleen's visitation will be held on Monday March 4, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Respectfully, interment will be private in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
