Murphy, Charles J. "Chuck" Thursday, November 17, 2016. Beloved husband for 70 years to his soulmate Marie (nee Hoberg). Loving father of Patrice (Dwight) Arant & Karen (Bob) Becker; Adored "Grandpa Chuck" to Tina Hanneman, Kristen Arant, Erin Terry and great-grandchildren Megan, Adam, Haley and Kwame. Dear uncle and friend. Chuck graduated from Cleveland High where he was a four-sport varsity letterman. He served as a Navy pilot during WWII. He had a long career in the insurance industry. During his retirement Chuck participated in the Senior Olympics, winning many medals over the years, and he enjoyed playing senior softball. He loved jazz music, Cardinal baseball, traveling and nature walks. Mostly he loved his family. He was a man of his generation: honest, kind, generous, ethical and responsible. SERVICES: Memorial service at 2 PM on Sunday, Nov. 27th at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS Funeral Homes (South County - 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd). Memorial Visitation from 1pm to 2pm.
