It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” E. Diemer at the age of 83; Son of the late Carl Henry Diemer and Doris Elizabeth Diemer nee Vollet; brother of Dorothy (Robert) Gehbauer and Richard Diemer; Special friend of Cynthia “Cindy” Kluzak; uncle of Tracy (Michael) Voegtle, Robbie (Kristen) Gehbauer, 1 great niece, and 4 great nephews. He is also survived by the Kluzak family and many cousins.
Charles graduated from Cleveland High School in 1959 and eagerly continued his path of learning by earning his BS in electrical engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla (Missouri S&T) in 1963 and a master’s degree at University of California in Long Beach. Charles worked at McDonell Douglas and later retired from Boeing and did work for the Department of Defense.
Charles was a member of the Friends of Tower Grove Park. He was a true adventurer at heart, finding joy in the great outdoors. He had a passion for ice skating, skiing, hiking, and bicycling, always seeking new trails and experiences. The mountains held a special place in his heart, with Yosemite National Park being his favorite sanctuary where he found peace and inspiration. He was also a gifted handyman, known for his remarkable talent in fixing things. His workshop was a testament to his meticulous nature, always kept in pristine condition and filled with tools and projects that showcased his skill and creativity. Charles’ friends and family will deeply miss his adventurous spirit, his unwavering support, and his loving presence. He was a pillar of strength and a source of endless joy, and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Charles’ family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude for all his Dolan caregivers and Mercy Hospice.
Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to Friends of Tower Grove Park or Humane Society of Missouri.
Charles's visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116 from 9:00 a.m. until his memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, following memorial service.
