Charles "Larry" Bennett was called home in Jesus on Friday, January 13th, 2017. He was a member of St. Trinity Lutheran Church of St. Louis. Larry was a former Marine, heavy equipment mechanic at Jamestown's Consul Burning Star 4, retired Volunteer Fire Chief/Firefighter, loving husband, dad, grandpa, & great-grandpa. He served as firefighter on the Marion Volunteer Fire Department; as Chief, on the Village of Cutler Fire Department & Cutler Fire Protection District. He belonged to the Jeffco Detachment of the United States Marine Corps League as well as the Steeleville American Legion Post BBK 480. He loved volunteering at St. Trinity and working with the service project groups that came through. His favorite St. Trinity project was the fire alarm system in the former school building. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Michele Bennett, Jennifer (Bryan) Diercks; son, Chuck (Dawn) Bennett; his niece, Deborah(Pete) Marlin; Step-Son, Joe Myers; nine grandchildren; two great grandsons; His brother, Robert Bennett; & many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles & friends. He was a wonderful grandpa to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diann Bennett; his parents, Everett & Violet Bennett; beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, & dear friends. Memorials to St. Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 Koeln Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63111 would be appreciated.
