MESSMER, CATHERINE ELIZABETH (nee Brown) Fortified with the Sacraments of holy Mother Church on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the age of 90. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. Brown, Sr, and Catherine M. Brown (nee Prince), her beloved husband Peter John Messmer, Sr., sons Ronald John and Peter John, Jr., brothers Harry (Eva Messmer) Semar, Thomas J. (Rosa) Brown, Jr., Richard M. (Carole surviving) Brown, Bernard F. (Patricia) Brown, Sr., John J. (Anna Mae) Brown, Sr. and her sister Bridget (Margie) Hood, her father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Anna (Besch) Messmer, brothers-in-law George (Clara), Joseph and Michael Messmer, sisters-in-law Anna (Edgar) Wise and Susan (Charles) Melton. She is survived by her sister Mary Alice (Percy) Bess, her brother-in-law Nick (Dorothy deceased) Messmer, her son Robert Michael (Anita), daughters Anne Marie, Karen Elizabeth, Linda Susan (Keith Turner) and son John Anthony (Tammy) Messmer, grandchildren Lori Ann (David) Becker, Daniel Robert (Alexis) Messmer, Sharon Elizabeth (Jacob) Tannehill, Michelle Lynn (David Trenary) Messmer and great-grandchildren, John "Jack" Patrick, Ryan Robert, Madeline Diane and Mary Catherine Becker, Jonathan "John" Michael Tannehill and Mason Robert Messmer. Catherine was godmother to several nieces and nephews including, James Edward Semar, Peggy Sue (Brown) Meyer, Joyce D. (Brown) Triska and the late Bernard F. Brown, Jr. Catherine was a life long friend of Stella O'Keefe, Eileen Wentworth and Joy Sinkovitz. She also enjoyed many years of friendship with her work friends Dottie Brinker, Audrey DeGreef, Agnes Tettambel and Loyce Wilson. Our dear mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, godmother and friend. The family gratefully acknowledges the devotion and care provided to our mother by our friend Keith Turner, SSM Hospice Staff and Dr. Elizabeth Tracy. In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. St. Jude, pray for us who have recourse to you. March 12, 2017
