Caroline A. Cordia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Daughter of the late Martin B. Johnson and the late Rose A. Johnson nee Dulle; survived by her husband Robert Eugene Cordia; proceeded in death by her siblings Orville Johnson, Erwin (Helen) Johnson, Raymond (Darlene) Johnson, John (Dolores) Johnson, Rose Marie (Sam) Basso, Martin Johnson, Thomas (Evelyn) Johnson, Joan (Norman) Wheelan and is survived by her sister in law Millie Johnson; proceeded in death by her son Paul Cordia and survived by daughter Rosanne (Jason) Gramling and Brian Cordia; grandchildren Jacob Cordia, Haylie Cordia and Sienna Cordia.
Caroline was a beloved member of our community who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was a devout and faithful Catholic woman, whose life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her family and passions.
Caroline and Robert’s 54-year marriage was a beautiful journey of love, companionship, and shared adventures. Together, they explored the world, creating countless memories and experiencing the wonders of life side by side. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, a true testament to the power of love and commitment.
Caroline graduated from Mater Dei Catholic High School in 1958. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in square dancing, a hobby she and Robert cherished for over 20 years as a dedicated member of her local square-dancing club. Their love for dance was matched only by their love for travel.
Caroline was also an avid reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of her favorite books. Her family will always remember her as a dedicated and loving mother, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
To honor Caroline’s life, we will have a visitation on Thursday, September 5 from 4pm to 8pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel also a visitation on Friday, September 6 from 8:30am-9:30am at the funeral home, then traveling in procession to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10am followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 11:15.
