Brenda Foster

February 28, 1954 — February 19, 2017

Brenda Sue Foster of Dupo, IL was born 2/28/1954 in St Louis, MO at City Hospital. She was the 5th child of Rosemary Thomas (deceased 1989). Her father was Roy Calvin Thomas (deceased 1967). Brenda has 3 brothers: Robert "Bob" Totra of Florida, Melvin Totra of Cahokia, IL, Larry Thomas (deceased 2017). She has 1 sister, Mary Ann Vent (deceased 1997). She was blessed with wonderful sister-in-laws, who were great friends: Carolyn Totra, Arlene Totra and Wanda Thomas. And a strong brother-in-law, James G Vent, Sr. Brenda's childhood was spent in the City of St. Louis, Rose Mount, IL and Salem, IL. She married at a young age, to a wonderful man, William "Bill" George Foster, Jr on 11/28/1970. Despite their young ages, the marriage thrived for 33 years! Bill was the step son of Robert Edward Foster (deceased 1988) and Helen Virginia Hausman (deceased 1994). From her wonderful marriage to Bill, 2 sons were born and raised in Cahokia, IL. William George Foster III "Billy" was born in 1973. Jeremy Robert Foster was born in 1981. The two sons have grown the Foster family, bringing great joy to Brenda! Billy's union with Cheryl Noack has given Brenda 4 amazing grandchildren: Heather Noack, Jessica Noack, Shane Foster and Dylan Foster, Along with 2 fabulous great grandchildren: Pierce Lutz and Jaxon Cole. Jeremy's union with Tracey Perkins has given Brenda two wonderful grandchildren: Randy Wright and Kylie Foster. Brenda's love for her family was boundless. Much joy was had by all in making memories. Near and dear to Brenda's heart were Bill Foster's relatives, especially Linda Austin and Gene Foster. Brenda so enjoyed the time she spent with her many nieces and nephews: Mary Ann's children: Jim, Debbie, Michael, Tina and Tim. Debbie often said, they were together with Brenda so often, she felt like a big sister instead of their Aunt. Melvin's children: Ray, Tammy, Mark and Craig. Bob's children: Misty, Dawn and Bobby, Jr. Larry's son, Larry, Jr. In more recent years, Aunt Brenda, not only enjoyed visiting her nieces and nephews, she also enjoyed their spouses, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brenda liked family gatherings! For many years Brenda babysat in her home. In addition to other children she cared for her great niece and nephews: Josh and Scott Harper and Jason, Dan and Tiffany (Bohn) Hill. There was great fun to be had at Aunt Brenda's house, but you better be tidy! Brenda and Bill enjoyed working together outside of the home and working together at home to maintain a lovely house. Brenda liked a nice home, with everything perfectly coordinated, in good condition and in it's place! In their spare time, camping and vacationing were their passions. They made great friends when they were members of the Cahokia Traders Camping Club. Brenda took cake decorating classes with her sister and sister-in-laws when the ladies all decided they wanted to be able to my cakes for their kids for all the special occasions. Brenda was quite the talented, perfectionist! She even helped make some of the families' wedding and anniversary cakes! After Bill's sudden death in 2003, Brenda found herself heartbroken and on her own for the first time in her life. What a hard position to be in after 33 years of having Bill by her side spoiling her! Through the love and support of her family and friends, Brenda prevailed in leaving their family home and moving to Dupo, IL. With much determination, she embarked upon taking GED classes to add to her employment stability. We were all proud of her and full of encouragement. The family and friends had a delightful time at her graduation ceremony and picnic! The Lord Blessed Brenda with the companionship of a wonderful man in 2011 when she met John Hamilton. After a year of exciting courtship, she and John took their relationship to a permanent level on June 23, 2012, through a beautiful civil union ceremony! Brenda looked lovely in her beautiful wedding gown with handsome John by her side and their sons as groomsmen. They were surrounded by family and friends. A good time was had by all! Brenda had a great amount of love for her new husband, John. He has been a wonderful blessing by her side day-in and day-out, through good times and poor health. John spoiled her, too! With John came the blessing of growing her family even larger. Brenda embraced his two sons: Chris Hamilton (deceased 2016) and Kyle Hamilton, his wife, Shannon and grandson Austin. Brenda had a wonderful life, rich in love and surrounded by many nice things acquired with the help of her wonderful husbands. We will all miss her. Our wish is that she find joy in the savior, Jesus Christ, while in Heaven with her loved ones that have passed before her. May God Bless You, Brenda, and watch over you till we meet again!
