Betty Ann Risley, nee Wray, entered into rest on Wednesday December 18, 2024, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of and reunited with the late Irvin C. Risley Sr.; devoted mother of daughter Pamela (Tom) Parlow and son Irvin C. "Chuck" (Tammy) Risley Jr.; cherished grandmother of Nicole (Cody) Rader, Jason Long, Ted Risley, Amanda (Matt) Schmitt, and Sarah (Kai Daiden) Parlow; blessed great-grandmother of Lucas Rader, Makenna Schmitt, Elizabeth "Kate" Rader, Darrin Schmitt, Evan Schmitt, and Harold Long. Betty is also survived many other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters Thelma Deaton, Freda Story, and Joyce Jones; brothers Charles and Johnny Wray; and parents Luther and Eva, nee Dollins, Wray.
Betty was born early December 1934, bringing in the festive season. Throughout her long life, Betty would forge an innumerable amount of memories with her family and friends while also creating waves in her accomplished business profession. In her free time, Betty loved to travel, play games, and, in quieter moments, her creativity would find an outlet in her paintings. She also loved going out to eat with friends, especially to Mexican restaurants.
Betty is also remembered for her faith and love for her Lord and her Church. She was a devout Christian and member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold. Betty was a blessing in many lives throughout her family and community, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. John's Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Betty's honor.
Betty's visitation will be held on Sunday December 22, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Her funeral will take place the following morning, December 23, at St. John's Lutheran Church - Arnold at 11:30 a.m., following a one-hour visitation at the church. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery following her funeral.
