Betty LeBaube, age 90, entered into rest on Monday, Sept. 23rd, 2019.
She is survived by her children, Terry of Union Grove, WI; Denise and Ron Jurgens of Lincoln; NE, Chuck LeBaube of Richwoods, MO; Lisa Allen of St. Louis, MO; and Ed & Suzi LeBaube of Webster Groves, MO.
Betty was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Families include Emily and Sam LeBaube; Chuck and fiancée Jacque, and Natalie, Abigail, and Allison; Amity Foster and Randy; Aaron, Collin Foster, and Breanne Holloway; Dan, Wendy, Elijah, and Tanner Allen; Luke, Janice, Jade, and Wyatt Allen; and Betsy, Joe, and Lorelei Porter. She was a loved Aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Babe” LeBaube, and infant son.
Betty spent her life dedicated to her family. She enjoyed working at the Kroger grocery in Lemay from the 1960’s through the 1980’s. She was a checker and worked payroll as well. In her spare time, she loved to go fishing, crochet, read mysteries, bake apple pies and make plum jelly. We will all miss her fried chicken and her baked pork chops. Her whole life she was a St. Louis Blues Hockey fan. She watched every Stanley Cup game, cheering them on and shaking her lucky ring over them!
Dogs played a big part in Mom’s life. Dottie and Tony are the current critters. They miss Mom, especially all of the sneaked treats that they weren’t supposed to get!
Most of all, Betty will be missed by all of her grands. She was always teaching them – how to cook, tap dance, crochet, make mostaccioli, play Parcheesi and card games. While playing poker, she was known as the “evil witch” because she was sneaky and won most of the time! Betty loved to listen about what was happening in their lives, and enjoyed their exploits. The grands kept her young – going to the Fox Theater, visiting in South Dakota, and a road trip to Kansas City.
Betty influenced so many people during her 90 years on this earth. We are all blessed to have known her. Mom requested memorials be made to:
St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlin, SD 57326; or
Special Olympics Missouri, 305 Special Olympics Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
