Bert Walker

Walker, Bert Alan entered into rest on Monday, February 19, 2018 at age 66. Beloved husband of Karen L. Walker (nee Hacker) for 47 years. Dear father of Melanie Vilcek and Brian Walker. Dear grandfather of Gemma Palmer. Dear son of the late S. G., Jr. and Reba Walker (nee Crihfield). Dear son-in-law of Russell and Vivian Hacker (nee Armistead). Bert graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1969 and served in the U. S. Navy from June of 1970 to June of 1978. He worked in navigation electronics aboard the submarine, USS Benjamin Franklin, SSBN640B, out of Rota, Spain. Bert worked 22 years as a Field Service Engineer at AGFA (formerly Compugraphic Corp.) and 18 years as a Field Service Engineer and Telephone Field Dispatcher for ESKO Artworks. He enjoyed computers, electronics, photography and travel with family to the National Parks. Memorials to any charity of donor's choice is appreciated. Services: Family and friends to gather at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Homes (South County), 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO (63129) on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:00 pm and then proceed to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for committal funeral services at 1:30 pm Thursday with full military honors.
