88, Passed peacefully into the arms of Christ on Friday, February 3, 2023. Beloved father of Debbie (Tony) Bandle, Cathy (Jim) Shipley, Janet (Carl) Brielmaier, and Jim (Barb) Kierski; cherished grandfather of Lauren (Jared) Hu, Matt (Kelcie) Brielmaier, Lily Kierski, and Sophie Kierski; great-grandfather of Savannah Hu, James Hu, and Quinn Hu.

Bernard served his country in Korea as a member of the United States Army. He was a graduate of Saint Louis University High School and earned his Master’s Degree at the University of Missouri, Saint Louis. Bernard was Teacher of the Year at St. Charles Community College and was also a favorite teacher at Webster University where he taught for several years. Bernard was also a big Mizzou fan and a fan of unexplained phenomena.

Services: Family and friends to gather Thurs, Feb 9 from 4pm–8pm. Funeral Service Friday, Feb 10 at 9:30am. Both held at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road (63129). Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
