Barbel Purvis

PURVIS, BARBEL (nee Harder) of St. Louis, MO passed on Monday, November 14, 2016 in Potosi, MO at the age of 79. Barbel was born in Berlin, Germany on April 27, 1937. Barbel was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin Purvis; her parents and siblings and companion of many years, Murel Davis. Left to mourn her loss are her good friends Robin and Leonard Yount of St. Louis, MO; her niece, Gabrielle Sepp and husband Janusz of Berlin, Germany and many other family members and friends. She met her husband, James M. Purvis, in Germany while he served in the US Military. Barbel and James were married and resided in the United States. To their marriage, no children were received. Soon after their marriage, Barbel became a citizen of the United States. Barbel was very proud of her citizenship and of America. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the caring staff of Georgian Gardens and Preferred Hospice. Memorial visitation and service at JOHN L.
