Audrey Young

Young, Audrey (nee Schuely) was welcomed home in Heaven on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late William Young, Jr.; beloved mother of Sharon Tanaka and the late William Young, III; beloved mother-in-law of Alan Tanaka; loving grandmother of Jeffrey, Kim, and Stacy Flake; dear aunt, and friend. Her enduring faith in God and belief in the words of Jesus who said, today you will be with me in paradise. Call to mind that When we are absent from this body (at death), we are present with the Lord. We may have a temporary sorrow now, but we have the assurance that we will be reunited once again. A child survivor of the Great Depression and a contributor to the war effort of World War II where she aided in manufacturing munitions. A lifelong resident of the City of Saint Louis, she was the first in her family to graduate Roosevelt High School. She lived her life with tenacity and on her own terms, a balance personality of love, understanding, and strength. She will be missed deeply and remembered affectionately.
