Antoinette Indelicato (nee Accardi) was born on May 7, 1931, and passed in her home, surrounded by her loving family on September 26, 2023. She was 92 years old. Antoinette was born in Tunis, Tunisia to Mary and Jasper Accardi, who she is preceded by, as well as her siblings Sam, Agnes, and John. Her family came to America in 1948, when she was eighteen years old, which Antoinette described as “a dream.” In 1950, Antoinette met the love of her life Michael “Mickey” Indelicato. The two were wed on November 16, 1952, and Michael from then on became her inseparable and loving husband of 71 years. Antoinette dedicated her life to the well-being and feeding of her family.
She was known for her remarkable, made-from-scratch meals she made all by herself, which her family could only hope to replicate with a minimum of three people. Some of her most notable cuisines include tagliatelle noodles, homemade ravioli, giuggiulena cookies, cream puffs, and pasta with sugo, which became her staple for Sunday family dinners. Aside from cooking, some of Antoinette’s favorite hobbies included playing slots at the casino, vacationing, kissing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, mercilessly beating her family at the game Rummikub, dancing to the song Che La Luna, and above all, spending time with her family. Even in Antoinette’s final days, she maintained her sense of humor, kept her family laughing, and made sure everyone was fed. She has led a long, remarkable life, was loved deeply, and will be missed by many.
Antoinette is survived by her beloved husband Mickey Indelicato, her son Anthony “Tony” (Debbie) Indelicato, daughter Linda (Geno) Duerst, daughter Mary Ann (Bill) Fellenz, son Michael (Mary Beth) Indelicato, her grandchildren Gina (Patrick Fraley) Indelicato, Dianna (Jacob) Dieffenbach, Ashley (Adam) Metelski, Sasha Fellenz, Dominic Indelicato, Vinnie Indelicato, and Sophia Indelicato, and great-grandchildren Caroline and Jacob Dieffenbach.
