February 21, 1938 — July 11, 2024

St. Lous

Anneliese Pourcillie, nee Knödler, entered into rest on Thursday July 11, 2024, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Paul Pourcillie Sr.; cherished mother of the late James “Jim” (surviving Jackie Merrit) Dyer and of bonus children Sandy and Paul Jr.; dear sister of Gatrid, Kurt, and the late Aldorf; aunt of Gabi Ackermann and Joan Wiggers; treasured friend of Joy King and Ingrid Stickland; beloved grandmother figure and friend to many.

Anneliese was born in 1938 on a chilly February day in Unhingen, Germany to parnets the late Heinrich and the late Magdelena, nee Knap, Knödler. When Anneliese immigrated to the United States, she met, befriended, and married Paul Sr. and they blended their families with love and care. Aside from raising their family, Anneliese held a job in making handbags where she found a life-long friendship in Joy King. Throughout her long life, Anneliese was known for her independence and headstrongness.

Anneliese, her stories, and her advice will be greatly missed by all who had the chance to know her. May she rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appropriated to Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association.
