Anne Jostes

Jostes, Anne, of Saint Louis, Missouri and was born to Dr. James and Miriam (nee MacMillan) Atkins and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2022, in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 81 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Jr. (Sonny) Atkins, sisters, Connie Sharp, Mirrie Corgan, Norma Nell Atkins and her son Aaron Vance Jostes.

She is survived by, her loving husband of 61 years, Ronald Jostes, 4 children, Bud Jostes, Randall Jostes, Holly Jostes Coon, and Christopher Jostes, 10 grandchildren, Kyle Howard, Clayton Jostes, Audrey Kuczka, Grayson Jostes, Annalee Coon, August Jostes, Teddy Coon, Anika Jostes, Gabriel Jostes, and Grace Jostes, 6 much loved children/grandchildren through marriage, Lee Ann Jostes, Michael Coon, Shelly Jostes, Michelle Howard, Sabrina Jostes, and Joe Kuczka, 8 great grandchildren, Ryan Jostes, Marijetta Lisicin Jostes, Roman Jostes, Kade Howard, Levi Howard, Elyn Howard, Olivia Kuczka, and Ellie Kuczka.

Anne was the heart and soul of the Jostes family. She was a fierce protector of the downtrodden and a gentle nurturer of the young. She could coax the weak into robustness and conversely, feared no earthly authority if it hindered something she loved. She prayed with the heart of a warrior and played with the heart of a child. She taught us to love and laugh and water plants. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.”

Visitation will be Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Service at 2:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery at 1299 Prairie Du Rocher Street, Prairie Du Rocher, IL 62277 at 10:00 a.m.
