Ann J. Bretz nee Missey passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on Friday, October 25, 2024. Daughter of the late Austin Missey and Ruth Missey nee Reeves; sister of the late Edward Lee (Lucille) Missey and the late Louise Walker; beloved mother of Peggy (Terry) Frazer, Joe (Donna) Cordes, Donna Silver, Barb (Kirk) Metts, Don (Debbie) Bretz, Ron Bretz and Shelly (Carl) Adams; cherished grandmother of Rich (Jan), the late Terry (Katie), Jeff (Mollie), Scott (Tracey), Christie (Nick), Amy (Todd), Jessica, Sherri (John), Ryan (Stephanie), Kayla (Jeff), and Anthony; loving great grandmother of Samantha (Kenny), Beau, Ryleigh, Josh, Julia, Alexis, Holland, Kendal, Brandon, Justin; great-great grandmother of Stella, Tucker, Rory, Eleanor, Sofia and Addy; dear aunt of Richard (Tabitha) Walker and Paula (Steven) Carleson, Steve Walker; Ann will be missed by many more relatives and friends.
Ann leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and delicious baked goods. Ann’s Tuesdays were always filled with joy as she eagerly attended Bingo, a pastime she cherished deeply. Her love for playing cards and scratch-offs brought her endless delight and many fond memories.
Ann was an extraordinary baker, known for her incredible cakes that graced every family gathering, from weddings to birthdays. Her talent and passion for baking were evident in every creation, and she took great pride in her work as a cake decorator at Schnucks before her retirement.
In addition to her baking, Ann had a flair for making beautiful flower arrangements, adding a touch of elegance and beauty to every occasion. Her creativity and attention to detail were admired by all who knew her.
Ann will be deeply missed by her large and loving family, who adored her dearly. Her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought into their lives will never be forgotten. Ann’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
