Alecia “Peggy” Klobe, nee Stefanski, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother, was welcomed home peacefully on Saturday February 24, 2024, at the age of 96. Peggy was born on Wednesday March 16, 1927, to parents, the late Mildred, nee Tandy, and the late Joseph Stefanski. Wife of loving and devoted husband of almost 72 years, Joseph “Ray” Klobe; devoted mother of Steve (Karen) Klobe, Nancy (Mark) Mixell, the late Tom Klobe, John Klobe, Maggie (Scott) Schuchardt, Mary (Brad) Beckwith, Donna Wenzelburger, Barb (Matt) Foerstel, and Christina Klobe; blessed grandmother and great grandmother of Leah, Alyssa, Brendan, Roman, Everett, Atticus, McKenzie, Beckham, Georgia, Presley, Amy, Tim, Jon, Audrey, Phoebe, Vivian, Henry, Amelia, Winnie, Lola, Austin, Ailysh, Anika, Brad, Ben, Emily, Adam, Carter, Megan, Zach, Jake, Piper, Cameron, Dan, Eric, Luka, Frankie, Leo, and Jane; many other relatives and dear friends.
Peggy touched many lives throughout her long life. She was a devout Catholic and dedicated member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church and was happy to be involved in more than receiving Eucharist. Peggy volunteered for organizations within her church such as the Resurrection Choir and Bible Study where she could share fellowship and praise with others.
Outside of the Church, Peggy would continue to share the gift of her presence and time working at Hallmark stores where she could help spread joy and bring smiles to people’s faces. She also enjoyed working with her friends at various estate sales where she could help someone find a new treasure or story.
In her free time Peggy enjoyed traveling, especially through the United States and across the pond in Europe. She and her husband and best friend, Ray, had many adventures and made innumerable memories on these trips.
While many people will have a variety of memories of Peggy, all who had the blessing of meeting her, will remember her kindness, gentleness, and love. It has been said that “everyone who met her, recognized that she was the closest thing to heaven.” She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Vincent DePaul Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A special thank you to Mercy Hospice.
