Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Beloved wife of the late James A. Cooney, dearest mother of Deborah (Frank) Mullen, Daniel (deceased), Donald, and David Cooney. Cherished grandmother of Melissa (Zach) Mason and Amy Mullen. Beloved great grandma of Hayden Mason and Hadley Kate Mason. Agnes was born January 29, 1932 in Nashville IL and grew up on a farm in Scheller, IL. She attended grade school in DuBois IL and high school in Tamaroa IL. After high school, Agnes moved to Caseyville IL and lived in an apartment with her sister, Susan. Agnes was introduced to her future husband, Jim, by her landlord, who was a friend of Jim's family. Jim and Agnes were married on September 7, 1957 at St. Stephen's Church, Caseyville IL. For a short time, they lived in East St. Louis IL. Agnes worked at the National Stockyards bank before moving to Dogtown in St. Louis in the early sixties. She was a long-time member of St. James the Greater Church. While her children were in grade school at St. James, she worked as a cafeteria worker and a school yard monitor. When her children got older, she worked at various retail stores. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and served food at funeral luncheons. Friday mornings, she would help clean the church for weekend services and was a greeter at church on Sundays. Agnes and Jim enjoyed traveling. Over the years, they visited Canada, Mexico and Europe. Agnes enjoyed visiting Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock Lake with her family, but she did not swim so you would more than likely to find her at the shopping malls instead of on the water. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events. Agnes greatly enjoyed being with her family on holidays. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Augustyna Restoff, brother and sister in law, John and Linda Restoff, sister and brother in law, Susan and Ray Farmer, sister in laws Mary Hunicke, Loretta Pinion and Patricia Nogle, and brother in laws Walter Hunicke, Oren Nogle, Thomas Cooney, and Duane Shelstad.
