Adolph Meyer

December 17, 1925 — June 2, 2012

Meyer, Adolph H. "Ade" passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 2, 2012, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. He was 86 years of age. Beloved husband for 64 years of Kathleen S. Meyer (nee Murphy); father of Pat (Neal) Alster, Pam (Bob) Pollihan, Peggy (Mike) Cashion, Phyllis (Kevin) Corless and Ron (Kim) Meyer. Loving grandfather to Carey (Jason) Kilbane, Kevin, Brian, Nathan and Kelly Corless, Kimberly Pollihan, Aaron Alster, Amanda and Grant Meyer. Beloved brother, brother-in-law and friend to many. Ade was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque for 46 years, serving as President and Treasurer of the Holy Name Society. He grew up in Lemay and attended St. Andrews Church. He graduated from St. John the Baptist High School and attended Washington University. He was a founding member of the Lemay Aces and held various officer positions for more than 50 years as a member. Ade served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He retired from Midwest Curtain Company as VP of Finance after 40+ years. He loved his family, his friends and his faith. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to The Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, www.dsagsl.org. Services: Funeral from JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS South County 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. Thursday 9:30 to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church for Mass of the Resurrection, 10:00 am. Interment with Full Military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Visitation: Wednesday 3-8 pm Thursday, June 07
